Training for graduate students to enhance quality of education.

Library staff attends training for Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Faculty/ School/Institute/Centre, Postgraduate Committees on 10th May 2017 at Central Catering Unit (CCU).The Board of graduate School conducted a one day training to discuss standards for graduate students to enhance quality of education. The training was geared towards ensuring Commission of University Education (CUE) standards and guidelines and postgraduate regulations are implemented to enhance quality graduate education.

The training was presided over by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students Affairs), Professor Isaac Mbeche on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, and was graced by the presence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research Production and Extension) Professor Lucy Irungu.

The Ag. Deputy Director, Library and Information Services in charge of technical services, Rosemary Otando attended the training and presented on Plagiarism and Turnitin plagiarism check software. 

The following are some of the topics discussed in the training;

  1. Overview of online application process
  2. Overview of reviewed  regulations and CUE guidelines
  3. Supervision progress reports
  4. Overview of the graduate tracking system
  5. Research ethics
  6. Plagiarism
  7. Intellectual Property
